Jan 20,  · After installing a previous Windows update, for example, my laptop’s battery stopped charging. Note: It took a really long time to make a bootable Windows 10 flash drive and to download the Boot Camp drivers to a flash drive. Like around an hour. I thought the process had frozen, but it hadn’t. Just wait it out. I also had a new 16GB flash drive just NOT.

While years ago we were hesitant to try BIOS Updates there is no reason why not to always have the latest.

You must simply assure that no power cut can happen during the actual operation. So test if the battery is indeed providing any support at all on its own. You have done great work and covered most bases. Over the years I’ve compiled a checklist that sequences the possible battery checks and fixes in order so it would be best if you tried again the steps you’ve already done in the order they appear.

Check the manufacturer’s Support web page for your full model number to see if there is a battery issue or recall for it. Remember you have a full one year warranty for PC and parts replacement or repair so I’d use it if still available.

Right click Start to open Device Manager, under Battery choose the battery device, then Driver tab, then if available Roll Back the driver. If not available, choose Uninstall Driver, restart PC to reinstall. If nothing else helps then you might need to replace the battery. However I will tell you that most OEM after-market batteries and chargers have problems so I would only buy the official manufacturer’s battery from the PC maker to be sure.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it’s resolved.
