I had just installed a program EaseUS backup , which automatically rebooted my Lenovo laptop less than a year old to complete the installation process. After the update, the laptop won’t get past the initial Lenovo startup screen.

I’ve tried the following:. I called Lenovo support. All I got was the suggestion to reinstall Windows, thereby losing all of my apps. This is not an acceptable solution! Any ideas? I suggest open start and search for feedback and open Feedback Hub app and report this issue. It will give you ability to send log files and Windows team could investigate the issue.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Thanks for tying. I actually have a Macrium rescue disc that I created for this laptop. I see options on the screen for troubleshooting, automatic repair, etc, so it’s not that I don’t have power.

I tried pressing the Enter key when I saw the Lenovo logo. Didn’t do anything – continued as before. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

I’ve tried the following: – selected restart many times – tried to boot up from a Windows recovery DVD – tried to boot p from a Lenovo system recovery USB – tried to go into safe mode from the troubleshooting menu- could’t get in – tried system restore – couldn’t be done – tried system repair – couldn’t do anything – went to the command prompt to try to run chkdsk, but I was locked out of the X drive I called Lenovo support.

Hi Oboedot Unfortunately, it looks like you are gonna have to choose the reinstall option to get it back in working order. Yes, its a chore, but at least you will be able to recover your files from the Windows. I caved in and did a Reset this PC, accepting that i would lose my apps.

After an hour or so, the update seemed to finish. Now what? My recommendations were to perform the Custom Install. Based on my years of supporting and use Windows 10, Reset this PC works best under ideal conditions.

For your situation, the custom install is more thorough and clean. That article will show you what the custom install looks like. A subscription to make the most of your time.
